Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These terms govern your use of CronBeat, operated by CronBeat ("we"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use CronBeat.
1. The service
CronBeat monitors scheduled jobs. Your jobs send pings to a ping URL, or the CronBeat Kubernetes agent reports job runs from your cluster, or the CronBeat host agent that you install on a Linux server reports the runs of the cron jobs you wrap with it. CronBeat detects jobs that did not run, failed or ran too long and sends alerts to the channels you configure, such as email, Slack or a webhook. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You must give a working email address and keep your sign-in methods secure.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us if you think your account was accessed without your permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse the service, for example by flooding it or trying to bypass rate limits or plan limits,
- use CronBeat for anything illegal or to store or send illegal content,
- put passwords, tokens or other secrets or sensitive personal data into ping bodies, which are stored and shown in the dashboard,
- probe, scan or attack other people's systems, including by pointing webhook channels at systems you do not own or have permission to test,
- try to access data or accounts that are not yours, or disrupt the service for others.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules.
4. Plans and limits
CronBeat has the Free, Pro and Enterprise plans. Each plan has limits, for example on the number of monitors, channels and agents, the shortest check interval and how long history is kept. The limits are those shown on the pricing page. If you are above a limit, for example after a downgrade, your existing monitors keep running and keep alerting. Only new ones are blocked until you are within the limits again or you upgrade.
5. Billing and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed through Polar, which acts as merchant of record. Payment and card data are handled by Polar on its checkout page.
- You can cancel at any time in the customer portal, which you open from the Billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds are handled under the terms of the checkout provider, Polar.
- An active subscription must be canceled before you can delete your account.
6. Availability
We do not offer an uptime guarantee or service level agreement in this version of CronBeat. We run the service on a best effort basis. It can be unavailable, slow or under maintenance without notice.
7. Alerts are best effort
Alerts depend on your configuration, on the third-party services that carry them (email, chat services, your webhook) and on the availability of CronBeat. An alert can be late or can fail to arrive. Do not rely on CronBeat as your only safeguard for critical systems. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for missed, late or false alerts or for any loss that results from them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Termination
You can stop using CronBeat and delete your account at any time on the Account page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. When your account is deleted, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. If a change is significant we will tell account holders, for example by email or inside the app. If you keep using CronBeat after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
The law of the country in which the operator of CronBeat is established applies; the operator's details are listed under Contact.
